Have trouble starting car on occasion especially when it is hot and been driven for some time then stopped and go to restart it

Hello,
I don't think I would suspect the distributor right away unless you find oil in the cap. However, this does sound like you should test the ignition coil. Let me know if you find oil in the cap, or if the coil tests bad.
Does it restart right away, or do you have to let the car sit a couple minutes? Always a different amount of time needed to restart the engine, or no?
