I have a 1976 ford f250 that the engine dies while driving it

(1990 Ford F-250)

i have a 1976 ford f250 with a 460 the engine will shut off while driving. It has a 4 speed so without clutching it i can turn the key off and back on again and it will back fire and run fine for a while. have replaced the ignition switch and the ignition module. got any ideas

Are we talking about cruising? Acceleration? Deceleration?

Make sure your vacuum lines are all attached and functioning. Make sure the vacuum line to the vacuum advance is hooked up and has suction. I do believe this engine and year has vacuum advance, but if it doesn't, my apologies...
