I changed the oil pan gasket and the low oil level lights is coming on. Any idea

(1999 Chevrolet C1500)
I changed the oil pan gasket and the low oil level lights comes on and the antifreeze looks brown now.

IF engine oil is at the proper fill level ... Suspect damaged low *oil level* sensor during pan gasket replacement.

Hello,
If you have not flushed the coolant on schedule, there is no better time than the preset to use a detergent and flush/refill the system. Remember, the coolant is also a lubricant and corrosion preventive agent, so the cooling system will suffer without proper maintenance.
If there is oil in the coolant, that is another story.
The oil level sensor should be tested, since the issue could be a bad oil pressure sensor (in the side of the oil pan), the connector, or the wiring for the sensor could be faulty.
Use a multi-meter to identify the voltage to and from the sensor when the oil level is full, but the truck says it is low.
