Hyundai motor america (hyundai) is recalling certain 2011-2014 sonata and 2011-2015 sonata hybrid vehicles previously repaired under recall campaign 17v-152. the seat belt linkages for both front seat belts may detach from the seat belt anchor pretensioners.

The front seat seat belts may become detached from where the seat belt linkage attaches to the seat belt anchorage. This would result in occupants not being properly restrained in an accident, and can lead to injury.

Recall repairs on your Hyundai must be performed by a Hyundai dealership. Hyundai will notify known owners of affected vehicles beginning in October, 2017. If you do not receive a notification, but wish to check to see if your vehicle is included, please contact one of your local Hyundai dealerships. They will also check for any other incomplete recalls on your vehicle. For best results, be prepared to provide your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) to the service department consultant you speak with. The Hyundai recall number is 169.
