Hyundai motor america (hyundai) is recalling certain 2013-2017 santa fe and santa fe sport vehicles. in the affected vehicles, the secondary hood latch actuating cable may corrode and bind, causing the secondary hood latch to remain in the unlatched position when the hood is closed.

The secondary hood latch cable may corrode and bind, causing the secondary hood latch to remain unlatched with the hood closed. This could result in the hood opening unexpectedly while driving, obstructing driver vision and possibly causing an accident.

Recall repairs on your Hyundai must be performed by a Hyundai dealership. Hyundai will notify known owners of affected vehicles beginning in June, 2017. If you do not receive a notification, but wish to check to see if your vehicle is included, please contact one of your local Hyundai dealerships. They will also check for any other incomplete recalls on your vehicle.
