The service performed was the best I ever received. Everyone were so kind and open about my car's issues. However, I felt so bad I wasn't able to tip the man who fixed my car. I will be going back there for sure. And I told all friends about the location of the shop. I agreed to take them there if needed. I was very happy with the treatment received.
The staff is friendly and courteous. When my check engine light came on the service writer took the time to explain not only what was wrong with my car but also to answer all of my questions without talking over my head. I was in and out in an hour and a half and the repairs didn't cost an arm and a leg
After reviewing repairpal, I realized that there were some shops listed on the site. I observed the shops upon seeing the quotes and went to get my manifold gaskets changed. As such, i encountered Hunts Point Service Station, Inc., a place I had drove past on numerous occasions.
As I entered the lot I observed a couple of mechanics getting ready to close shop. I told him what I was there for and the below start:
The mechanic/ salesman indicated that How the job would be a big job and would costs a lot for that vehicle, he had to deal with rust issues on the vehicle, etc. At this point I advised him that I got a quote from repairpal and came there to get the repairs done seeking a reputable company. He stated that those prices would not be inline with his prices since he might have to extract some bolts from the manifold. We went to an in shop computer where he ran the program for the mechanic repair time period for the certain repair. The system indicated that the job would be 1.3 hrs per side. He said he would just make it 4 hours since the bolt extraction would be necessary.
Upon completion, the mechanic advised me that the car needed an oil change and some oil since it was 2 quarts short. I was reluctant to allow any oil change be done there because he seemed more in salesman upsell mode.
I realized that the mechanic only changed 1 manifold gasket ($25.17), failing to repair the passenger side. I further observed that he used old bolts in the exhaust manifold repair job.
I was contacted by a female salesperson a day later and i discussed my dissatisfaction with the repair service. I also discussed my reluctancy to return to the auto shop since I did not want to be seen as a needy type person looking for something free. I honestly just wanted my car fixed by an honest, fair and reliable company.
Office wise some of the people were great conversation and all. However, since this is business and not personal, it must be judge as such. It must be understood that customers are spending their money so the service and satisfaction must be up to standards. After the service, i did happen to see the company Yelp reviews showing similar disatisfactions.
The price for the repairs exceeded the costs estimated by repairpal.com excessively totaling to 353.48 labor and $35.87 parts (1 gasket used).(Wonder what happened to at other new gasket, still have to buy another one for that repair now!)
REPAIRS: 2002 DODGE RAM 1500, SLT, 4X4, 4.7 liter.
Repairpal quote for both manifold gaskets was $188 to $248. parts being $17-35 bucks (2 gaskets).

After reviewing various options, I decided to head here to get my car checked. I needed a complete front & rest struct shock assembly. At the time, based on the cheap brand I asked for, the mechanic asked for $500 total for a cheap assembly, including labor cost. After completely dissembling the car, he starts exclaiming that a lot more is wrong than initially realized and starts asking for $850, and continually ups the price to $1000. At one point he started complaining that he didn't even have the parts there and was extremely rude throughout. I decided I no longer wanted to be serviced there, and asked to have my car reassembled with no servicing, agreeing to pay whatever labor charge he requested. He refused this and also refused to give back my OWN car. He finally serviced the car after a lot of argument and rude, needlessly aggressive behavior, and charged over $900.
