I believe you are likely talking about the belt tensioner. The tensioner has to be moved one way or another to relieve the tension. It either has a bolt head to put a long wrench on to move and will need long for access or has a square hole spot on the front to put a ratchet or breaker bar in to allow for movement. Be aware that when moved and remove belt out of the way the tensioner will move farther than when belt is on as it comes to rest position so allow for any interference.
I assume you are talking about the acc belt tension, if so there should be a tensioner that you pry up to releive the tension you need a 3/8 ratchet or a 15mm wrench or an 18mm
