after driving the car a while the car goes into limp mode and a wrench light comes on what is the problem

You need to retrieve the codes from the computer systems, of which there are many, like hundreds of different codes, then you can begin to repair the car. The Electronic Throttle Control is 1 system that has a few components, any of which can cause a problem like you are describing.
