Q: How much will labor cost to have an alternator replaced? on 2003 Hyundai Sonata

The car wont start and battery is fully charged. The vehicle just died while going 80 on the highway and never was able to crank back up.

Why not do it yourself? All you need is a 12mm socket and wrench and I think a 14mm socket. 2 bolts hold the alternator on to the bracket. Loosen the bolt that is on top that goes through a metal block. Then ratchet the screw that goes through the metal block at the back of the bracket to loosen the belt. Remove the belt. Take the top bolt completely out. Take the bottom nut and bolt out. Remove the alternator. Disconnect the wires. Put new alternator in and reverse the instructions.
