How much is it to replace the transmision

(2007 Mercedes-Benz R500)

I was told that my 2007 R500 needed a new transmission. the car has 60,000 miles on it. Is this normal and how much does this cost?

It is around 7 hours of labor and a used R500 Transmission goes for $2200 wholesale.
However I would call Mercedes about this, because there are a dozen or more Service Bulletins for Transmission problems, so possibly the warranty has been extended for the Transmission and its replacement.
