How is it possible to stop water from getting sucked into the intake?

(1990 Nissan 300ZX)

i have an aftermarket intake that sits right behind the front fender and the fender has air slits, one puddle and bye bye engine

You have to build an air box some how or revert to the original air box mounted between the two headlights. You do not want to hydro lock the engine!!!!
