How do you take out a digital climate control unit on a 2008 Pontiac G6

(2008 Pontiac G6)
My blower on my heater works. The thermostat works also. But even after I warm up the car , only cold air comes out. However, when I'm driving , warm air comes out. The light on a digital display sometimes goes out. I am trying to replace the whole unit and I don't know how to take it out. Any suggestions?
What seems to make the problem better or worse? Gets better when you drive it but then when you stop it blows cold air again
How long have you had this problem? A couple of weeks

BEFORE you do all that work (maybe for nothing) it would be wise to prove the dash unit is indeed faulty!

Just saying.
