Car feels like its going to shut down when first accelerating. Feels like its not getting enough gas. This all started right after changing the air filter.

First make SURE the big rubber tube did not split when the filter was replaced, or it is still connected properly!!! To clean debris, use a vacuum cleaner, that's a lot easier than removing the air cleaner assembly.
Double check that big black rubber tube, it can not have ANY leaks, or the engine will NOT run right!!!
Also be sure no trash gets in, or has gotten into the intake or top of the filter box.
