How do you change the gear selector on the transmission, It is worn out and will not shift into all gears

Usually it is just loose and does not select the gears when the retaining bolts loosen at the shifter in the column. The shifter needs aligned, and the bolts need thread locker added to them and then secured. Replacement should not be necessary.
