HOW DO I TEST FUEL PUMP TO SEE IF IT IS STILL GOOD, HOW DO I GET TO PUMP

(2001 Cadillac Seville SLS)

FUEL GAUGE WAS ACTING WEIRD FOR A COUPLE WEEKS. IT WOULD BE ALL OVER THE PLACE. BUT THEN THE CAR JUST DIED LIKE IT RAN OUT OF GAS, PUT MORE IN IT, NOW IT WILL NOT START. I HAVE TRIED CRANKING IT OVER LIKE THE BOOK SAYS TOO, BUT IT WILL NOT START. HAD IT TOWED HOME. SO IF THE PUMP IS NO GOOD IS THERE A SPECIAL WAY OF GETTING TO IT ?

I would check fuel pressure first if there is no fuel pressure then turn the key on and see if you can hear the fuel pump running if it is the fuel pump then you will have to drop the gas tank because the pump is inside the tank

okay, thank you. I hope it's not the pump, doesn't sound easy to change.

You can spray carb cleaner into the intake boot and then attempt to start the car. If it kicks over then it is fuel related. Check the relay first. You can also beat the bottom of the fuel tank to shock the pump into working for one more journey. Call Milt's Service Garage in Vallejo to get the diagnostics completed. (707)643-7548
