my solenoid started sticking a few months back and i was able to give it a couple love taps to work but now it wont turn over at all. Can i take the solenoid off the starter and if so how do i do this? Do i need to take my starter out too?

The solenoid is part of the starter, I'm not sure you can replace it separately. You will need to remove the entire starter either way.

Thank you, I never new this. My Haynes Rebuild Self Repair Manual wasn't very specific on this part of the starter.

I suggest you get an online repair manual from one of these companies, the info is far superior to the Haynes manuals.
