How do i rewire the orginal 3rd brake light ? its a 87 camaro

(1990 Chevrolet Camaro)

we tried a yellow wire but it kept blowing a fuse

Its best to use a DVOM otherwise called a multi-meter to check polarity of the wiring at the high mount stop light. You can also use the same meter on different setting to check for short to ground and current draw for just that one light.
