How do I reprogram my keys. The Jeep is not recognizing either key.

(2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee)
in Carrollton, GA on August 04, 2013
The car stalled out on us after being parked for a while. It would start and idle but when tran engaged would stall. Due to previous experience I changed out fuel pressure regulator/filter. Same deal. Now, I see an invalid key icon, and gauges won't come up. It turns over but no start. I understand it has to do with SKIS but can't find any trouble shoot info or similar reports. I'm stumped.

Could be a shorted bus line to any of the control modules... instrument panel, PCM, BCM, Auto A/C control, radio and so on. If it has been sitting for a while I would look for rodent damage to the wiring, mainly under the hood. I don't know if your area has a rodent problem like ours does. If you don't see any damage the system will need to be diagnosed.
