How do I repair a snapped trunk release cable near the lever?

the cable snapped the other day when I pulled the lever to try to pop my trunk. How can I repair this?

If any cable sticking out of cable housing,use small vice grips. Leave them hooked up. Can always use key!,!

repl cable if you can find one it may be obsolete
