How do I relieve the brake pressure enough to replace the drums?

(2007 Honda Civic)
in Saint Leonard, MD on September 19, 2011
Replace rear brake shoes, but can't get the drums to fit over the new shoes. The pressure in the pistons keeps pushing the shoes outward.
THANKS!

The return springs should overcome the brake pressure. Perhaps the return spring are week or the parking brake is to tight.

Finally got it and the brakes work great. I suspect the after-market shoes may have been the issue. THANKS for the reply.
