How do I get the Temp sensor in the front bumper to work again?

I had the front bumper replaced and now the oirginal temperature sensor that gives the outside temperature reading on the instrument cluster is dark. What are the steps in correcting this problem? Does the whole thing need to be replaced?

The snsor is connected to the wire/hose but I can't follow it to its terminal in the car. Obviously it goes to light behind the dash but is there a relay? Is this a wire or a hose?
Thank you.
Phil
