You did not mention if your Expedition is 4x2 or 4x4.

If it's 4x4 - you need to remove the drive axle in the front to remove the pan.

If it's 4x2, you need to access and lift the motor for access to the pan.

What are you attempting to accomplish in chassis? If you have a knock noise, you're going to have to pull the engine out. You can't do any successful repairs on this in chassis...if at all.
