I had same problem on my 2005 Impala. Removed the door panel, and the plastic glued to the metal of the door, Found the glass out of the guide track at the front of the door. Removed the bolt holding the runner, replaced window glass back into track, rep[laced the bolt, tested it, worked fine, then reglued the plastic and replaced the door panel. Took about a half hour. No problems since. If this is your problem, you very easily can fix ityourself.
