Q: Hi, my question is where can I find the P0715 Input/Turbine Speed Sensor Circuit on 2002 BMW 530i

I was driving through a tough rain and the water was flooding the street very fast, I was able to make it home but my car now has the transmission stuck in a high gear. I ran the code diagnostic and this is the one that came out, P0715 Input/Turbine Speed Sensor Circuit Malfunction. Just wanted to know if its a job a could so myself, I'm not a certified mechanic but I usually do most jobs in my car.

I just had this same issue after a carwash that included the undercarriage spray. When I got home I disconnected the large plug at the back of the transmission to find it was full of water. I blew out the connections with compressed air and BAM! that fixed it.
Same Thing happened to me just yesterday I have a 2001 bmw 325ci was driving last night and it was raining really to my house and felt transimission was acting funny on the dashboard saw a circle with a ! mark next to the gear indicator, turned the car oof left it for a while and now service engine soon is on and the car still shifts kind of funny have the same code P0715..i would like to know how hard is it to replace this and whats the cost..please help...thanks
My daughter has an '02 325i and she hit a puddle in the rain. The car went into a limp mode with P0715 error code. I did some research and some had suggested to open the trans cover to replace the sensor. However, when I got under the car, I noticed there's a set of circular connectors attached to the side of the trans housing and they were not properly engaged. These connectors have to be twisted and pulled apart. I clean both connectors and reconnect them. Code went away and problem solved. Before you attempt to remove the cover, try this first and also inspect the wires coming from both directions.
