The car still handles good on dry roads. When you hit slush or snow it feels like it all over the road like the rear end is loose. Had it checked everything seems ok. Do I need an alignment? Most threads indicate not necessary after spring install.

rear wheel drive? need to use cables as needed(when in doubt, use them) for winter conditions. when shop for winter tires, best to look for heaviest tread possible as well as the softest rubber compound possible. bridgestone blizzaks are pretty good.
tires for spring and summer will never handle slush the same as top end winter tires. even if they are brand new. rubber compound is different.
never trust the ground hog for sign of spring. switch end of april for summer tires. october for winter.
