Hard morning starts...

A.M. start ups usually after the truck has sat for more than 12hrs. It has a hard miss and blows black smoke out the tailpipe. Runs like this for approx 2min then clears right up. Can anyone tell me why?

EGR valve is Probably sticking due to carbon deposits, or the injector spool valves are sticking, the EGR valve itself runs about $350, and depending on the mileage the repairs might be covered under the Diesel Engine Warranty with only a small deductible at your local Ford Dealer, Here is a Service Bulletin for the concern. hope this helps.
