Probably never did do good on headgasket job
Is that the same mechanic did the head gasket replacement? If do
Did he ever replace the head bolts, resurface the head and clean the surface of engine block?
And did a pressure test in the head?

It's the same shop, but different management. Can't answer re: resurfacing the head or cleaning the surface of the engine block, but it sure seems odd that the gaskets would give out after 40K miles...Thanks. jw

Probably bought a cheap head gasket
Cuz there's always cheap head gasket and expensive head gasket
