Grinding noise from under hood, when air conditioner is on

(2013 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid)
in Springfield, MO on May 05, 2018
When I turn the air conditioner on, there's a strange grinding, noise from under the hood. It's pretty loud when the gas engine isn't on. Sounds almost like a small fan that's got a piece of plastic stuck in it & the blades are hitting as they pass by. Is this normal for a hybrid?

The noise may indeed be the A/C condenser fan making noise. It may also be the A/C compressor or drive belt making the noise. The only way to find out for sure is to bring the vehicle in to a reputable repair facility.
