Grinding due to abs, still ok to drive?

(1999 GMC Suburban 2500)

due to abs system the regular grinding sound has started, I tried removing fuse for abs, still regular driving. Is is safe to drive, what are consequences of driving with continued grinding sound?

your brakes are into the rotors from your description. has nothing to do with abs. get them checked asap. the longer you drive the more damage you do to the system.

the sound is intermitent but regular, i believe it is from the abs trying to engage, the grinding is not from pressing on brake. I know the abs sensor needs to be replaced, does this hinder the trucks safety/reliability?
