For vehicles equipped with a plastic handled Kiddie fire extinguisher, the extinguishers may become clogged, preventing the extinguisher from discharging as expected. It could also make it necessary to use excessive force to activate the extinguisher. The nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with force as a result, causing injury. All of these concerns would prevent the extinguisher from functioning properly as needed during a fire.

The passenger frontal air bag assembly is deployed by an inflator which contains propellant that makes the air bag deploy. This propellant may degrade over time, especially when exposed to humidity and temperature cycling.
