General motors llc (gm) is recalling certain model year 2013 chevrolet equinox and gmc terrain vehicles. in the affected vehicles, the ball joints in the windshield wiper module may corrode and wear over time, possibly resulting in one or both of the windshield wipers becoming inoperative.

The windshield wiper system may stop working due to corrosion building up within the joints of the wiper module. This can result in reduced visibility and a crash.

Recall repairs on your Chevrolet or GMC truck must be performed by a General Motors dealership. General Motors will notify known owners of affected vehicles beginning in September, 2016. If you do not receive a notification, but wish to check to see if your vehicle is included, please contact one of your local General Motors dealerships. They will also check for any other incomplete recalls on your vehicle. For best results, be prepared to provide your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) to the service department consultant you speak with. The General Motors recall number is 25302.

The ignition key may be able to be removed from the ignition switch without the vehicle's transmission being shifted to the park position, which could allow the vehicle to roll unexpectedly as occupants exit the vehicle. This would increase risk of injury.
