Glove box handle broke.

My glove box handle broke. How does one remove the original lock cylinder so it can be installed in the new handle?

They are all different but using the key and releasing a retainer with a small pick or screwdriver will allow the lock cylinder to rotate to a position where the cylinder can be removed from the housing.
