The vehicle shift lever could come out of park accidentally without the use of safety features like the shift lever button being depressed, the brake being pressed, or the key being turned to the proper position. This could allow the vehicle to roll unattended.

General Motors notified owners of affected vehicles starting in November 1998. You can check with your dealer to see if your vehicle is involved in this program. It is helpful to have your VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) on hand when you contact them.
