Fuel pump/fuel level sensor on 2001 Buick LeSabre

I was told I'd have to replace the fuel pump in order to replace the fuel level sensor. I have a late model 2001 Buick LeSabre Custom. Can anyone tell me if this is correct?

They are right but I see AC Delco makes a Fuel Level Sensor kit #SK1030 for about $225 But the pump and sender is located in the fuel tank and its a 1.3 hour job to Remove and Replace the pump. Maybe give a repair shop a call and dicuss this with them http://repairpal.com/directory?address=53142&car_brand_names=Buick
