Fuel Pump?

truck stalls @ 3000 RPM while accelerating. Replaced fuel filter, recent tuneup, new catalytic converter. Checked for back pressure on exhaust and that was insignificant. No codes or service lights showed up.

Check fuel pressure and fuel volume. You should have a pint of fuel delivered into a glass jar in 10 seconds of cranking. An ignition coil that is incapable of putting out sufficient spark should also make your truck hard to start from cold. You may find some interesting reading at
