Fuel Leak during Fill up

(2001 Ford E-150)
in Mastic, NY on April 23, 2011
My fuel tank has just begun leaking only when I am filling up the tank. It appears to be coming from the area right in the middle of the tank, running down the side and to the back of the tank where it then drips on the ground. Once filling is completed, the leak stops about thirty seconds later. What is this caused by and how do I fix it?

the fill hose may have a leak at the top of the tank. most likely the tank will have to be dropped and the leak found and repaired. cant say until someone drops the tank and identifies the failure.

How involved is it to drop the tank? I see two long bolts attached to the tank straps, if I support the tank and loosen those do I need to disconnect anything else before lowering the tank?
