Fuel gauge it stuck

(1999 Chevrolet Cavalier)
My full gauge is always reading full, even when the tank is empty.How can I fix this?

sounds like the sending unit may have a broken wire or is just not functioning, Unfortunatly the only way to tell is to drop the fuel tank out since it is connected to the fuel pump inside the tank. check for power at connection if good than faulty sending unit if bad continue working up the wire untill you get power than you will have to splice it from there back to the sending unit connecter.
