the truck ran and steam was coming out the driver side of the engine. When water was poured in it it went right out the bottom of the engine.

IF you are doing the work yourself (or you would like to) , first suggestion would be to raise it on jack stands and using a flashlight , locate the culprit while someone is adding water/coolant til it runs out Also verifying source of leak at the same time.
