The passenger frontal air bag assembly is deployed by an inflator which contains propellant that makes the air bag deploy. This propellant may degrade over time, especially when exposed to humidity and temperature cycling. As a result, the inflator may rupture on deployment, which can send metal shrapnel through the air bag, striking vehicle occupants. This could result in serious injury or death.

Recalls on your Ford or Lincoln must be performed by a Ford or Lincoln dealership. Ford will notify known owners of affected vehicles beginning in July, 2016. Brake fluid may leak under the hood internally from the master cylinder into the brake booster.  This fluid leak may not be visible, but eventually would cause loss of front brake system operation. This would increase risk of an accident.

For vehicles modified with a Ricon wheelchair lift by New England Wheels, the wheelchair lift platform can crack and as a result separate from the lift and come to rest against the vehicle lift door. Additionally, the link arms of the lifts may have pivot holes that are too large, allowing the bearings to move out of position. Either concern would cause the platform to fall out of the vehicle when the door is opened. This would increase risk of injury.
