For vehicles that have had a replacement Ford remanufactured automatic transmission installed, the shift lever bolt may not be properly tightened. This can result in the shift lever disengaging from the transmission, making it impossible to know the proper gear selected, nor put the vehicle into park to secure it.

Recalls on your Ford or Mercury must be performed by a Ford dealership. Ford will begin notifying known owners of affected vehicles in October 2015. If you do not receive a notification, but wish to check to see if your vehicle is included, please contact one of your local Ford dealerships. They will also check for any other uncompleted recalls on your vehicle. For best results, be prepared to provide your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) to the service department consultant you speak with.
