The fan kept running and drained the battery. Charged the battery, fan started running again, car would not crank. Disconnected fan with battery charged and car still will not crank.

Really need to have this car scanned by a Volvo savvy tech and shop. This car is very complex, the fact that the fan kept running and drained your battery, is a sign that you have a significant electrical issue. These cars are very sensitive, I have seen tow truck drivers ruin the programming in the central electrical computer just by jump starting the car. The car did not run after that and major repairs were required, so be careful!
