Exhaust work being questioned

(1999 Pontiac Grand Am)
in Bangor, ME on October 01, 2010
Check engine light came on. 2 wks later exhaust pipe broke in two hanging on the ground. The break was right after the C Converter. Had it repaired at Midas, expected to pay 4-600 for it and they charged me 200. Welded a new piece of pipe for the repair. Ever since I left their shop i've heard this weird faint ticking whenever you push on the gas.. It's been a week hasn't gone away. Do you have any idea why and if it needs to be looked at? Thank you!

The exhaust pipe was welded perhaps there is a pin hole or part of the pipe that did not get a good weld and exhaust gas is being forced out that crack pr pin hole. Bring it back to them I am sure they will be able to repair it if you can go for a drive with them and demonstrate the problem.
