Eratic fuel pressure loss

(1999 Chevrolet Tahoe)

Hi All, My 1999 Tahoe 180,000 mls, has a very hard to troubleshoot problem. the suv will run great than will start to loose power, at this point if you stop it will idle but will not take fuel at all only idle. At this point if you shut it off or it happens to die it will not restart. It has only done these on very warm days (Above 88 degrees) and it has only happened 4 to 5 times over the past 4 yrs. when this is going on if you let it set for an hour or so it will fire up and run for Lord knows how long. I was fortunate the last time this happened be able to test the fuel pressure and it was very erratic (as if something was vibrating) between 45 and 50 psi as the pump was running. However when the suv cools for a bit it will show a very steady 62-64 psi. also I have blocked the return line to the pump and showed 100psi output ( unfortunately I have not been able to preform test this when the suv is having this issue only when running properly). Parts replaced are as follows, Fuel Pump and filters (both in tank screen and in line filter) both from NAPA 5,000 miles ago, Cap,rotor, plugs, wires all from NAPA. Gas cap,Fuel pump relay, fuel Pressure regulator and catalytic converters from GM dealer . Sorry for being long winded but just wanted to give the best description possible. I am fearing that it may just be another bad pump but just want to run it by you all first. Thanks, Mike

sounds like a fuel pump issue. these modela must have 62 or better to run well. it sounds like the regulator has a problem if the dead head pressure is 100. the pump may be seizing when hot causing low pressure. i would start with a gm pump and go from there.
