Engine Runs away at odd times

when stoping sometimes it races wideopen until you completely stop

Chances are the throttle body is very dirty and getting stuck open when the engine/tranny are downshifting on decelration. It could aslo be a problem with the idle air control motor malfunctioning. Have a reputable shop check/diagnose the problem for you.
