Engine quality, bushing in lower control arms...

I have a taurus 99 has a dual ohc and in the frame it is rotted a bit in the front lower control arm, can i safely fix or do i discard car?? can I use a bushing kit? do I put reinforcment around the oblong holes that i think was caused from not fixing the problem and allowing a bad bushing to move and wear metal>??? Plus.......... Is this engine a good engine? what do you know about this? hope i am not asking too much, thanks

Something like this is usually repaired at a body shop as welding is the only way to repair something like this
