Engine misfire sometimes

misfires sometimes at idle and also at acceleration ,but clears up on highway driving over 50 mph

It could be many things, unfortunately and without experiencing the problem first hand or being able to do some basic diagnostic tests its hard to say. It could be an ignition failure (bad spark plug plug wires ect...) could be fuel system related or a vacuum leak ect.....
I did have a strange problem with of these that had bad valve springs causing a misfire, a friend that works on Chevys said he had seen that before on an S10.
