Q: Engine loses power momentarily on 2003 Kia Sedona

Rookie cbe0621eac06868b3efe0d8d1d3611e23c60d3114864ea2ec19a68cfbd3eebab
2003 Sedona 135,000 miles, riding down the road and all the sudden engine loses power for a second and then powers back up. The van has also stalled at a traffic light, but starts right back up. This happens about every other time we drive it. My local garage put the hand held on it and it indicated a fuel system error, but not specific. Any ideas??

Sounds like a possible electrical issue involving one of the many components in your fuel and ignition systems. ie: an intermittent sensor etc. I doubt that it is a fuel pump, in that when the engine loses power, it will usually continue to lose power until the engine is shut off and the vehicle sits for awhile. Then it is ok and the process repeats itself. This is usually caused by a clogged or partially clogged fuel filter. Most vehicle have (2) filters, one being in the fuel tank, which is most suseptable to clogging. A clloged filter of defective fuel pump will not set any diagnostic codes.
Thats good information, Sounds like we'll need to take it to Kia to figutr out. ARRRRGGGG
