Engine Light: EVAP

(2005 Chevrolet Tahoe)
in Montgomery, AL on August 12, 2009
Engine light on, had it checked; definition: EVAP purge/vent solenoid circuit condition; explanation: the solenoids and system wiring are monitored for opens or shorts; probable cause: purge or vent solenoids defective, check connector and wiring, fuel saturated vapor canister, failed EVAP vent solenoid. I had a tighten fuel cap message about a week before the engine light and I had hooked up trailer wiring for the first time since owning the truck and the light came on immediately. could i have blown a fuse? or is this just a coincidence?

Probably more of a coincidence. I don't think you couls have blown a fuse, but check them anyway. Vent solenoids have a pretty high failure rate on these trucks.
