Emergency Flasher
(1993 BMW 850Ci)
bl850 in Paramus, NJ on July 08, 2009
The emergency flasher activates and can't be turned off unless I remove the relay. I installed a brand new relay but the problem comes back after a few minutes. The car is not used often and is always stored in the garage.

Sounds like the switch is failing. I would check the input signals to the relay to be sure though.

The relay may need to be replaced completely.
I had a similar problem with my horn a year ago,
where it would remain once hitting it, so I replaced
the relay. The relay should be located in the fuse
box in your engine bay.
