Dropping front suspension

(2007 Mercedes-Benz GL450)
in Long Beach, CA on November 01, 2010
my problem is that it takes a little be longer than usual to go up. and as soon I take a very bumpy road start to drop the front end and then it there is a message that reads, PUMP IS GETTING COOL.
I am wonder if that can be pump problems or shock getting tired.

Any help will be really appreciated, as you know any bad decision on this cars is a matter of a lot of money, btw, it has 102,000 miles.

Thanks in advance,
